My Stay in Sa Pa, Vietnam
I recently stayed at Supan Ecolodge in Sa Pa, and it was an amazing experience! The ecolodge offers family rooms with private balconies and stunning mountain views, along with modern amenities and free WiFi. Waking up to the picturesque rice paddies and mountains, often shrouded in fog, was magical. The bungalow was clean and peaceful, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The ecolodge is about 30 minutes from Sapa town by car, which requires some travel, but I found it worth it for the serene atmosphere. I highly recommend Supan Ecolodge for anyone visiting Sa Pa!
Desert-themed Cafe in Shenzhen
Hidden gem cafe in Shenzhen, where you can experience the desert vibes without taking a flight!
As soon as you walk in, you will see sand-covered floors, cave-like ceilings, textured wooden furniture, oil lamps, and desert plants. 🪔
The exterior is also impressive and full of beautiful decor, such as a faux camel, springs, cacti, rustic bonfires, and dead trees perfectly mimicking the magnificent landscape unique to the desert. As someone who hasn’t been to a desert yet, it was quite exciting!

Zhangjiajie Hotels and Tickets
These are the links we personally considered and used for my trip to Zhangjiajie, China. Most of them are with trip.com as it is chinese-owned thus has the highest variety for activities and hotels in China. However, you may find some on Klook as well!
Train Tickets From Hong Kong to ZJJ – We travelled from Hong Kong personally!
Accommodation 1 – Xana Deluxe Hotel
A hotel In Zhangjiajie City. We stayed here for 1 night, 2 days to cover locations on the city side such as near Tianmen Mountain and 72 Wonder Tower. This hotel was just a few minutes away from Tianmen Mountain Cableway. Very close and convenient, very clean as well.
Accommodation 2 – Serenity Valley
A stay in Wulingyuan Scenic Area which is where “Avatar Mountains” & Zhangjiajie National Park are located. This is a bit further from the main city (almost an hour) but a hotel near the park would be the best bet to beat crowds and less travels overall. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful, very knowledgable about the park as a local and would give us personalized tips for our itinerary. The place itself was wonderful and spacious.
Tickets to Tianmen Mountain – Highly recommend using Line B for least crowds. Tour groups often choose Line A/C.
Tickets to ZJJ National Park – This is the park that includes the avatar mountains. It is generally a 4-day ticket as the park is huge.
